Even the Smallest Step Is Heard

Walking the path of teshuva begins without a soundtrack. No drama. No spotlight. Just you, the road, and your first quiet intention.

A Welcome to Those Who Are Just Beginning

If you believe —
or are setting your intention to believe —
in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,
the One who preceded all ancient bondage and rebellion,
the One who wished to save the children of men from fire
and from the blade held by their own parents —
in the name of some false god or another —

Then first of all: welcome.
A big, wholehearted welcome.

I’m so proud of your intention,
even if it’s the smallest of the small,
even if it feels lonely within you.

A Letter to Faith — and to Her Sister, Hope

If I may, I want to speak directly to your faith —
and to her sister, Hope.

Hello again, my dear ones.
It’s been a long time.
You’re probably angry with me,
or at least disappointed.
Fair enough. Truly.

So what now?

Are we waiting patiently for the concert to suddenly begin?
For the gates of heaven to open and the great music to flood the earth,
and from it all our lost beloved ones to rise,
and we’ll all stand together at the foot of the mountain of God
and bow our faces to the ground?

You laugh.
I know — wild imagination.

The World Moves Quietly. So Do You.

But there is a beautiful sun outside,
a soft green day with blue and touches of wood.
Cars drive quietly, each on its way.
I’m on the road, too.
So are you.

And if you’re taking your first steps,
you’ve already entered the stage of Walking
the phase of teshuva where action begins to replace longing,
and movement matters more than momentum.

Begin Your Own Teshuva Journey

Teshuva is not a leap.
It’s a walk.
One step.

No matter where you are on the path,
the TeshuvaTale homepage offers reflections, stories, and guidance
for every soul returning — slowly, imperfectly, truly.
